"Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard" (VEK’s share is 12.5 %) was successfully sold to the strategic investor, SMART GROUP in 2007. SMART GROUP is a huge Russian industrial holding.

State Joint Stock Holding Company “Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard” – the largest shipbuilding enterprise in Ukraine and one of the most powerful in Europe was founded in 1897.

The shipyard possesses a high level of autonomy and specializes in the manufacturing of military ships and civil vessels of different purposes, machines,
machinery, boilers, ship equipment, products, and different machinery and equipment for various branches of industry.

The company is located in Nikolaev – a large industrial and port center in Ukraine. The available warehouses and lifting and transporting equipment located near to the port area allow storing and transshipment of cargo of various types and also the delivery of production by sea, railway and/or road transport.

With the experience of constructing more than 60 vessel and ship projects, the company can accommodate any type of shipbuilding project. Ships built by the shipyard are exported to Sweden, Bulgaria, Norway, Romania, Great Britain, Germany, Portugal, Kuwait, India and Greece.

The company is capable  of carrying out repairs to tankers, bulk carriers and other types of vessel and has docking facilities able to accommodate vessels with a docking weight of up to 7,000 tons and of a length up to 130 meters. The first priorities of the company include obtaining orders for the construction of sections, hull blocks with weighing up to 1,300 tons, and hulls.
